How To Create A Successful Work at Home Business

Copyright 2005 Timothy Rohrer Many people have tried or are currently trying to make money online today. Only a small percentage of these people have actually gone on to achieve enormous amounts of success. The reason for so many failures is that people simply do not know how to create a home based business or even where to start.I am going to share with you the four things that the online Gurus do not want you to know because if you did, they wouldnt have a job anymore. The four areas of focus will be on finding a niche market, building income streams, affiliate programs and networking.Finding a niche market is your number one priority when starting a home based business. This means that you will have to do a little research and find the products or services everyone is looking for. Contact people already successful with a home business and find out what they are selling and how they started. When I first started myself, I signed up to money making forums and contacted people already making a living working out of their homes. I was shocked to find that these people were very helpful and provided me with plenty of valuable resources.Once you have found a niche market, go with it and stick with it. Its important not to give up if you fail the first time around, persistence is the key. Continue to diversify and research other programs that are a match for you. Do not rely on one program as a main source of income, rather seek out other opportunities and create multiple sources of streaming income.Network marketing is a fast growing business online today and an extremely effective way to build a business fast. Whatever product, program or service you decide to go with, become an expert on the subject matter and build a network with other people that share a common interest. When you are able to network your business with other business partners, it is possible to quadruple your income in a very short period of time.Resell your program, product or service. There are thousands of affiliates making millions of dollars today simply by reselling their programs online. Affiliate marketing is a fast growing online business and can be done by virtually anyone. There are plenty of affiliate programs available online that will offer commissions anywhere from 5% to 75% on each sale.Building a home business requires dedication and persistence. Following these four simple steps will help anyone achieve there goals and the financial freedom they have been looking for.About the author:Tim Rohrer is an established writer and home business owner. Affiliate Programs - Making Money With Your Website

Author: Mike Hamel Affiliate programs have been around since the burgeoning of the Internet. An affiliate program is “a revenue sharing program where an affiliate web site receives a portion of income for delivering sales, leads, or traffic to a merchant web site.” “Affiliate programs have grown today to become one of the most popular ways for you to earn an income from your web site's traffic,” reports ClickQuick.com. “Most affiliate programs are designed to allow you to simply set up and begin earning commissions on visitors and sales you refer.” How much money you can earn depends on the number of visitors to your site and on how many of them click on the text ads or banners that lead to the merchant site. When you join an affiliate program, you receive a specially formatted URL that allows the merchant—or a 3rd party service provider—to track the traffic coming from your site and to determine when a commissionable transaction has occurred for which you should be paid. Many programs, so choose wisely There are hundreds of affiliate programs to choose from. The variables to compare when considering a program include: commission rates, frequency of payment, and if there is a minimum dollar amount required before receiving a check. Be sure you understand how they track leads and determine sales. Are you being paid per-click, per-impression, per-lead, or per-sale? Look for programs that have been around for a while and that have a large network already in place. Avoid any programs that require a fee to join. The most popular programs these days are the pay-per-lead type, primarily because thy do not require a purchase to be made in order for a commission to be earned. Most pay-per-lead programs offer a free service or product, and although they usually pay lower commissions than pay-per-sale programs, they often have more conversions, which mean higher overall payments. A good example One industry that pays consistently high commissions for quality leads is the mortgage and home loan business. Take for instance the Easy Home Equity Mortgages Affiliate Program. EHEM pays for completed leads (form submissions) for a variety of loan types: mortgage refinancing, second mortgages, home equity loans, and debt consolidation loans. They specialize in bad credit loans that other lenders might reject. This means they accept more leads (and pay more commissions) than many other affiliate programs. EHEM is an example of a two-tier system. They pay commissions to both the affiliate that refers a lead and to the person who referred that affiliate to the program. They train affiliates, provide tech support, and supply all the needed text links and banners. Their program features: * no start-up fees * $21 per-lead payout * 25% second tier payout * high conversion ratio * 1-page simple form * timely commission payments There are several online directories where you can research and compare various affiliate programs, such as: Affiliate Guide, 5-Star Affiliate Programs, and Affiliate First. If you are looking for a time-effective, no-risk way to earn cash from your website or e-newsletter, affiliate programs could be just the ticket. His material is featured on sites like Easy Mortgage Refinancing. http://www.easyhomeequitymortgages.com/affiliate_program.php

Seven Tips for Starting Your Home Based Business

Now that you have decided to start a home based business, I want to start off by saying, “congratulations” and welcome to the wonderful world of being your own boss. While there is a lot to learn, your effort will be well worth it. The freedom and flexibility to set your own hours, the possibilities of ever-increasing financial security, the wonderful feeling of self accomplishment, and many more great rewards are all super reasons to start your home based business. Those are just a few of the many thrills of owning your own home based business! Now that you have decided to start your home based business, you might be wondering "How can I get it off to the strongest possible start?" These seven tips will help you on your journey... 1) Set up a separate working space in your home. It doesn't matter if this is a spare bedroom, a part of the garage, a corner of the living room, or some other area away from the rest of the household activities. The important thing is to have some space that you can designate as your own working area. This will give you the space and room you need to craft your dream. 2) Stock your working space with proper materials. This may sound basic but one underlying element of success is that you have easy access to the tools, materials, and other resources you need. Gathering everything close by keeps you from wasting time searching for it, so this step can also be considered a time management strategy as well. 3) Speaking of time management, your third step is to define the parameters of your home based business. What days and hours will you work? When and where will you market? How will you provide services or products to clients? How will you keep all of this in order? 4) Balance action with planning. One of the most common pitfalls to a successful home based business is getting caught up in action without enough planning. Stated another way, this means that you confuse "being busy" with "working on important projects." The best approach is to plan your next couple of goals and then work backwards to create step-by-step action plans to reach them. Once you have the plan, it is now time to take the action. 5) Network like crazy. One of the fastest ways to grow any home business is to make connections with other people. Be sure to share your passion and enthusiasm with others at every opportunity you get. Let people know who you are and what you offer. Remember, people can't buy if they don't know you're selling. 6) Present a professional image. If you want to be treated professionally, present a professional image at all times. Set up a separate bank account for your home based business. Install a separate telephone and fax line. Create professional marketing materials. Be courteous and pleasant in all your customer interactions. Basically, just be someone people want to do business with. 7) Automate your business as much as you possibly can. I know you are just one person (right now) and might have a lot of extra time to take care of all the details. This might work for now, but it won't work into the future as your home business gets bigger and much busier. It's best to set up automatic systems and processes right from the start to help free up your valuable time in order to concentrate on the most profitable activities. Following these seven tips will work wonders in getting your home based business started (and growing) in the right direction. Now get out there and start building your home based business! Are You Looking To Make Money Online

Working online can provide many freedoms. An online income can also be difficult to maintain. There are many different types of online incomes. The best way to figure out what is right for you is to find support online from others who are trying to make an online income. Your reasons for trying to find an online income can be many different things. You may be wanting an extra source of income or just looking to leave the 9to5 world. There are benefits no matter your reason for trying online income. - You are your own boss. - You directly control how much you make. - You chose the type of job you want to do. - No commuting. - No special dress code. This list could go on and on. The benefits are what you make them. The different types of income online range from easy programs to telecommuting positions that work much like a job outside the home. Residual income is where you sell a product through a website from another company. This involves very little work on your part and the income keeps coming without anything more on your part. As long as people are visiting your site and buying what you offer, you make money. These types of programs also usually involve programs where you can sign up other people to sell and you make a cut of any income they make. The possibilities for income are huge if you chose a good company and advertise well. Another type of online income is a business opportunity. It is like residual income, but you have to continuously work to sell. You interact with your clients and can also sell offline. These types of programs usually require an investment because you are essentially building your own business. These investments buy you your promotion materials and sample of products. Telecommuting jobs are online income where you work at home. These jobs are like a job you would have outside the home. You are given work by a company and expected to perform according to their guidelines. You have to put in time to make money. These are three examples of ways to make money online. New ideas are cropping up everyday, but beware of scams that may be lurking to take advantage of your time and money. A scam is where you are tricked out of your time or money by someone posing an income opportunity. There are some ways to spot scams. You should be wary of anyone who asks for payment for processing fees or other clerical fees. These are usually scams to steal your money. The easiest way to tell a scam is if the company doesn't give out a lot of information or you have to pay for information. You should be able to ask questions and know everything you need to know before investing in an opportunity. Perhaps the number one way to avoid scams is to talk to others who are making online income. Search for websites about working at home and look for message boards where you can talk with others. This will help you to get advice on scams and how to avoid them. You can also check companies out with the Better Business Bureau. The most important thing to remember is if it seems too good to be true than it probably is. Online income can give you a great way to build your finances. With the many choices of income opportunities you should easily be able to find something that works for you. Just be careful and check out any opportunity thoroughly. 16 Ways to Drive Traffic to Your Blog

You've got your blog set up and you've started posting pithy, useful information that your niche market would benefit from and enjoy. Days go by, you keep publishing, but no one comments and your traffic stats are barely registering. What do you do? Like any website you own, you must do some blog promotion to start driving traffic to your site. Here are 16 steps, in no particular order of importance, that you can start doing now to get traffic moving to your blog. 1. Set up a Bloglet subscription form on your blog and invite everyone in your network to subscribe: family, friends, colleagues, clients, associates. Http://www.bloglet.com 2. Set up a feed on MyYahoo.com so your site gets regularly spidered by the Yahoo search engine (see tutorial on http://www.biztipsblog.com) http://www.my.yahoo.com 3. Read and comment on other blogs that are in your target niche. Don't write things like "nice blog" or "great post." Write intelligent, useful comments with a link to your blog. 4. Use Ping-0-matic to ping blog directories. Do this every time you publish. http://www.pingomatic.com 5. Submit your blog to traditional search engines: http://www.submitfire.com 6. Submit your blog to blog directories. The most comprehensive list of directories is on this site: http://www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/ Tip: Create a form to track your submissions; this can take several hours when you first start so schedule an hour a day for submitting or hire a VA to do it for you. 7. Add a link to your blog in your email signature file. 8. Put a link to your blog on every page of your website. 9. If you publish a newsletter, make sure you have a link to your blog in every issue. 10. Include a link to your blog as a standard part of all outgoing correspondence such as autoresponder sequences, sales letters, reports, white papers, etc. 11. Print your blog URL on your business cards, brochures and flyers. 12. Make sure you have an RSS feed URL that people can subscribe to. The acronym RSS means Rich Site Summary, or some may consider its meaning as Really Simple Syndication. It is a document type that lists updates of websites or blogs available for syndication. These RSS documents (also known as 'feeds') may be read using aggregators (news readers). RSS feeds may show headlines only or both headlines and summaries. To learn how news aggregators/RSS readers work, see this site: http://www.rss-specifications.com/rss-readers.htm 13. Post often to keep attracting your subscribers to come back and refer you to others in their networks; include links to other blogs, articles and websites in your posts 14. Use Trackback links when you quote or refer to other blog posts. What is TrackBack? Essentially what this does is send a message from one server to another server letting it know you have posted a reference to their post. The beauty is that a link to your blog is now included on their site. 15. Write articles to post around the web in article directories. Include a link to your blog in the author info box (See example in our signature below). 16. Make a commitment to blog everyday. 10 minutes a day can help increase your traffic as new content attracts search engine spiders. Put it on your calendar as a task every day at the same time. Tip: Use a hit counter to track your visitor stats: how many unique visitors, how many page views, average length of visit. You can get a free hit counter at http://www.sitemeter.com Denise Wakeman of Next Level Partnership, and Patsi Krakoff of Customized Newsletter Services, have teamed up to create blogging classes and marketing services for independent professionals. How To Make Your Blog Work For You

If your blog is business oriented, you must always consider SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Yes - the ugly three word phrase. But these tips are easy - no coding needed. No scratching your head over php or html. It's simply about choosing the theme layout that will help your SEO efforts. It's easy but almost no one knows about it or thinks about it. Do you know that Search Engines don't always read every word on your page? That's right - they don't. The header tags and the upper left hand corner of the page might be all that is checked. What if your sidebar is in the upper left hand corner? The content in your sidebar doesn't change frequently so the Search Engines will think there is nothing new and move on. One of the main advantages of a blog is that it is frequently updated so it is Search Engine friendly. What's a blogger to do? Simple - choose a two-column theme with the sidebar on the right! What are 'header tags'? Header tags are simply the title of the post. Behind the scenes, your theme encloses your title in header tags. That's what makes the font bigger and makes it look like a title. Why is the title important? Search engines also look at what's inside your header tags. Since each post creates a new page it's easy for the search engines to locate the header tags. So - think about the title of every post. Make it keyword rich for the search engines but make it grab your reader too. With a little thought and planning you can make your blog really work for you.
